However, most of the Vielle Ville, or Old Town, dates from the 17^th and 18^th Centuries and today forms a maze of tiny, winding streets. Follow them up and down ancient steps and through arched tunnels, past tucked-away restaurants and into sunny squares. Since the 19^th Century, Grasse has been a firm fixture on the Grand Tour, often housing important historical characters such as Napoleon’s Sister, Princess Pauline Bonaparte as well as Queen Victoria. Thanks to its warm, but fresh climate, these visitors often came to recover their health, especially during the mild winters.
